hi, i drive a 95 dodge stealth rt with an automatic transmission. i bought the car a week ago and started experiencing some problems with the transmission. it starts up and runs great for about 15 min then after i slow down it will give a hard shift down to 1st as i accelerate the car will run through 1st through 2nd shift very hard through 3rd (sometime reaches 5000 rpms) and get stuck in 3rd and will rarely get into 4th. i took it to the trans shop and the 1st thing they did was replace the pulse sensors in the transmission. problem was not solved and i was out of pocket 300 dollars for it. they moved onto the transmissions computer (ecu) and said that it had burnt spots on the circuit board so they wanted me to replace that. I know that sometimes when circuits overheat they have a tendancy of pulling away from the motherboard thus causing the transmission to short out and act goofy… so maybe when the car runs right for about 15 min its because the computer hasn;t reached the temperature to start screwing up idk? should i continue this repair with this shop or just conclude that they are freakin idots and just rebuild the transmission? does the symtoms of the transmission sound like electronic or mechanical? so many questions lol but the quoted me 1800 for a tranny rebuild and idk about you guys but that a buttload of money to drop on 3000 dollar car…
