electronic design program?

does anybody know of a computer program that allows you to design an electronic circuit, and then run it so you can see how it reacts and works.

it has to be able to run on windows XP

I don't need it to do very complex circuits, as long as it has basic chips, like the 555 chip etc.

if it shows the flow of electricity though the circuit that would be great, even better if you can slow it down to watch the changes in flow

ideally want one that is free or very cheap

I have recently started electronics and have bought a breadboard and soldering iron. What is a store where I can find most wires and components (I've tried radioshack no wire there). A real store please, not an online one. Also, what type of wire should I use for general circuits?

A really tough question/challenge for those electronic savvy people out there:

I have 12 SUPER Bright LED's and a 12-Volt power source. Is there a circuit schematic available online that will let me use all 12 LED's and light them up like that famous Knight Rider car (KITT) from the '80's?

Notes:
—the LED's require about 5 Volts for max light intensity, but a little less is acceptable, so we can say 2V to 5V
—I have access to random IC's (LM555CN/NE555N/74154N) just to name a few, plus numerous resistors/capacitors/diodes (or buying is always an option)
—I have a good understanding of circuits, but I am in the early stages of being able to design them. So any kind of schematic will do (as long as it is clear)
—To make this an more challenging question, the preferred display involves the LED's to turn on (as it cycles) and to FADE off (just like the show's car)

Thanks in advanced

I have a good collection of radio transistor circuit books,original card document circuits of radio,trs.,tape recorders, reference manuals of trs.,valves. some instruments of repairing setup in working order.
I want to sell them if anybody really interested and if they are of some use to him.How can i approach to him.?
mostely the circuits are of old and antique radios and all.
thanking you.

I have a good collection of radio transistor circuit books,original card document circuits of radio,trs.,tape recorders, reference manuals of trs.,valves. some instruments of repairing setup in working order.(all antique) also have one pye radio,36-H.1948 make and one zenith trs. both in working order
I want to sell them if anybody really interested and if they are of some use to him.How can i approach to him.?
mostely the circuits are of old and antique radios and all.
thanking you.

I have a python security module for my car, and it has a couple of fried circuits in it, I can repair it, but there are a few small parts that need to be replaced, it is a small, half round thing with 3 prongs less than a square centimeter (sorry) with a flat spot that reads c9012 H-550 I need a couple of those, where can you buy those electronic parts? radioshack? Thanks for any help.

I am new to electronics but I want to start building my own circuits on circuitboards and all that fun stuff??? What's a good book for this?

Q1

Use the current divder rule to find I1 and I2 in the circuit (click link for circuit diagram)

Ans = 10 mA , 0.1m A

Answers are available but i need the working out.

Q2

Find the total equivalent capacitance and the voltage across each capacitor in the circuits shown in the link

a. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r31/simplyme_x/01-2.jpg

b. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r31/simplyme_x/02-1.jpg

Ans

a. CT = 6µF
V1 = 3V
V2 = 9V
V3 = 18V

b. CT = 27.5pF
V1 = 2.5V
V2 = 2.5V
V3 = 10V
V4 = 5V

Again answers are there but i dont know how to get them.

Q3

Find the voltage across and charge on each capacitor in the circuit show in the link

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r31/simplyme_x/03-1.jpg

Ans

V1 = 3.75V
Q1 = Q2 = 450µC
V2 = 11.25V
V3 = 10V
Q3 = Q4 = 250µC

Working out pls. Thanks xx

The purpose of the timer is to make single shot weapons fire automatically. you can find the original electronic schematic
here > http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=643928

it allows for approx 7 shots in 0.5 or 0.6 of a second.
this is incredibly fast and works well.
however there are many people that are using this tlc 555 and picaxe chips. and it is time for me to mod the mod.

the goal here is how to make it shoot faster to the brink of what the game will allow. ( which should be one trigger pull and the entire magazine is gone)

I have tried using 2 circuits in one controller this has the same effect as just using one.
I believe that the capacitors play a role in the frequency of repetition. but i have very basic knowledge of these kinds of things
there are 2 different caps in the circuit a 1uf and a 100pf one is ceramic one is a tantulum I don't know which controls the rate.
please if you have any info or knowledge in this area It would really help.
running them in series didn't work it remained the same speed I do really appreciatet he input however
thanks again
thank you

My group has got a project to do.. It's about integrated electronic circuit with op-amp.. We decided to build a simple guitar fuzz effect (links below), we submit our proposal, but they said it's too simple.. What minor change should I do to this effect? Because I've already get it done (female jack input and male jack output added)
