Store Manager
Retail Store Managers usually manage stores such as supermarkets, grocery stores, electronic items, automobile parts, or household appliances. Here in Saint Louis stores such as Wal-Mart, Schnucks, and Circuit City all have a store manager who basically runs the place and makes sure everything is going good, and everyone is doing their job. Store Managers may plan advertising, and sales promotions, hire and train new staff, and control inventories. The manager of a large store is usually involved in setting policy that will be carried out by division heads. When managers aren’t to busy with their own work and its extremely busy in the store they may help out with simple jobs that have to be done, such as stock shelves or help bag for customers until it slows down a bit. In Larger stores they might direct other employees to get these jobs done. Most of the time these stores are kept clean. While places like jewelry stores have a quiet atmosphere, grocery stores and retail outlet stores are usually crowded and noisy. The working conditions for managers include a massive amount of walking and standing since the duties of managers may take them to every part of the store. Another important thing store managers do is analyze sales figures, and forecast future sales. Organizing special promotions, displays and events is something that is usually done by store managers. One thing a store manager should never do is ask someone to do something they wouldn’t do themselves. Anything they ask to be done, is something they do without a problem when its really busy or no one is available to do the job. Something that managers can do to show appreciation would be to take time out of their schedule to thank those who work overtime when its needed, or cover last minute schedules by writing them thank you cards, or something like that. A good way to make it a maintain a friendly atmosphere at the store would be by letting employees suggest ideas. It’s the managers job to motivate the employees around him in any way that can help increase sales. Most store managers work long hours, and have a lot of overtime, but it usually works out because they get bonuses, and job benefits such as health insurance. The average yearly salary for a store manager is around ,000. However if you have experience and are managing a larger store you can make more than 0,000 with all the bonuses yearly. The business aspects of a store can be divided into four categories. Merchandising, which includes buying and selling, store operations which includes hiring personnel and receiving goods, accounting and bookkeeping, and advertising and promotion. There is a lot of responsibility on your shoulders, especially if you are a store manager of a very large store such as Wal-Mart. You have to make sure everything is done, and basically run the whole place. Its not an easy task, as managers are always running around the store looking for things that can be done and then assigning someone to get it done. Dealing with all kinds of customers is a daily thing when you are a manager of any store.

On Thursday, I went to Circuit City and bought an "open box" computer monitor at a great price. Same three year warranty, same 30 day return policy. Got it home and noticed it had a chip in the screen. Brought it back within 30 minutes and got a refund.

The charge was posted literally within seconds of when my card was swiped, but here it is three days later and the return credit is still not posted!

It is in the CC company's best interest to post the credit quickly so I can go out and spend it again and they can get their 2% or 3% of the sale.

I know it can't possibly be the technology, since it is all electronic and immediate.

So what is the hold up?

Well..I waited 12 hrs FIRST IN LINE (3:00pm Thanksgiving day- to open 5am) in line at Circuit City for the 42" Sharp lcd. I was very unpleased with their service 1.) they didnt have reserve tickets for the TV's, just the laptops. 2) there customer service was very awful. Best Buy was across the street giving out hot coco & had a tv out for ppl to watch.. I was very disappoint when I realized I would have to run for my tv (first come first serve) even though I knew I would get one because I was first HOWEVER it changed when I ran to the electronic desks the kids working there were playing around when I am seriously trying to make a purchase giving me the run around when the item is limited and other ppl that didnt wait that 12hrs like did had the possibility of getting my TV!..SO I TOOK liberties in my own hand and grabbed their display box (NEW & SEALED)..they didnt have any flat karts so i dragged it to check out..luckly in line I made friends and we helped each other by getting items

Basically I was wondering if there are any inexpensive electronic 'robots', LED displays, etc. that I can plug into my computer via USB (or anything else) that I can program easily using C++.

I just want to start learning how to develop software for basic robots, and program LED displays without building my own and risk damaging my computer ports.

Anything I can buy in Radioshack, Best Buy, Circuit City, all the electronic stores basically? Online stores will work as well.

Just… something I can program to move, display lights, etc.

What the heck is going on with my ipod?

Yesterday i lost all 1,500 songs from my ipod, dont ask me how, something happened. So then i pressed restore my ipod on itunes and it said the ipod was restored. BUt now when i plug in my ipod Itunes doesnt come on and a message is displayed syaing "the ipod could not be connected because itunes did not have the proper files" or something liek that, then it suggested i reinstall my ipod? What is goind on, should i try to fix it myself or just send it somewhere to be fixed?

If i should send it soemwhere, where should i send it? To apple or is there any other local electronic store (like circuit city or radioshack) that fix these problems?

PS- I am unbelievly mad i lost alll my songs, i dont want it to happen again. thank u.

5 Free Blu-Ray offer when purchasing a PS3…?

Quick question. I noticed the 5 free Blu-Ray offer after having purchased my PS3. Only problem is when I purchased it I chose store pickup from Circuit City, only receipt I have is a small one that just says "electronic game" on it with no price or anything. The confirmation email I got from CC has info on it, should I just send that in? Can I go to CC and get a replacement receipt? Thanks.

I just recently brought myself a car(2002 Honda Accord EX SE). Because I hate MANY of the radio stations I listen to, I would prefer to listen to my own music. Does anyone know where I can find a good and mess free or minimal mess wire hook up? Or maybe a good electronic store(Best Buy, Circuit City) that has one that I can go to. Thanks in Advance.

watch-movies.net is gone!!!! does anyone know why?? also where else can i watch movies online for free…also hulu's no good cause it only has older movies on it…i really wanna watch bridget jones diary for some random reason and my local electronic store (circuit city) closed down HELPPPP

I bought a sony vaio desktop computer for a little more than a month ago, it's having problem with the motherboard and/or video card. Sony customer service rep. said they will replace a new computer for me if it's manufacture defect. At first i thought it's the video card, she said video cards does go bad so it's not a manufacture defect, and when i told her it's the motherboard (diagnosed by circuit city tech) she said all electronic devises has the potential of breaking down so it is not considered manufacture's defect.
i had the option to schedule on-site tech for repair but due to the nature of my work, (interior designer), i have deadline to meet and time is crutial to me, i really can't wait another 1 or 2 weeks for the tech to come out…and the rep told me to repair or replace motherboard will cost me about 1000usd if i want to bring my computer to other shops and she's not sure if i can get reinbursed….am i screwed?
i think i'll just use my friend's computer for now but can someone with professional knowledge tell me if the bad motherboard and bad video card is a manufacture's defect or not? (the video card is integrated with motherboard) thanx!
the return policy from circuit city is 14 days from purchase for computers, the manager refuses to exchange a new computer and told me all i can do is to go to sony…

If you find it on the website of Best Buy or Circuit City, please copy the link. Thank you
