Lawyer or engineer?

Hello all, i need some advice on choosing a career path. As you can imagine, this is really nerve racking in a way. I like science, and if i become an engineer, i’d be an electronic or chemical engineer, on the other hand, law is also something i can imagine myself doing. I like to bicker or rather have rhetoric exchanges of malarkey, sometimes for hours on end, with my friends, and love proving people wrong. Having said that, I also like technology, and electronics. But i can also imagine drudging my ass off in some company doing whatever it is engineers do. lets face it, you dont need a passion to do engineering, how much passion can chips, and circuit panels arouse? and law on the other hand has its down sides as well, people tell me, that its pretty monotonous, and you have to read a lot. So i need a second opinion before taking up either one.

I want to start learning all about electronic stuff like circuits and chips and stuff anyone know any good websites.

Thanks

computer and electronics engineers plz….?

hello and thank you for looking into this question.
actually i had some plans for my future career. Currently i am doing Bachelor's of Computer Engineering. At different sites CE is defined as Engineer who's focus is less on Power electronics.
Keeping this definition in mind I thought after BCE i can go for Masters in Mircroelectronics and do the same job as Electronics engineers do (designing electronic circuits and electronic devices such as chips and transistor etc.).
I just need some guidance from you guys. Do you seem to find any thing wrong with my plan for future. is it ok for me to go for masters in microelectronics? or should i go for masters in electronics engineering? which one do you find better.

thanks alot

Is there a place on line where you can go to find circuit board schematics for things, like a database or something.

There have been many times when I take apart something, like a TV for example, and cant find where the power inputs go to replace a pulled out wire.

I know there are a LOT of circuit boards out there for every type of electronic but there has to be a place you can go to find out the layout?

Also If you know of any other good lookup places for electronics like pin-out diagrams for IC chips, ect that would help too. THANKS!

Electronic circuitry?

I want to learn how to make circuits. I know what most parts do (resistors, diodes, capacitors, etc) but I dont know how to use them together. Also, I am lost when it comes to gates and chips. Any sites or Explanations?

What is a good book to learn circuitry?

As the title explains I would like to learn basically what a sophomore/junior level EE student would learn. I’m looking for the practical side of circuitry, and less towards the theory. Obviously you need theory to understand practical and vice vursa, but I would like to actually be able to make basic circuits not just understand how they work. I’m a sophomore chemical engineering student and I’ve taken Physics Electricity and magnetics so I understand ac, dc, R,C, L Circuits. Also, is there any book or site that has different chips and what they do etc?

The last thing is I want the book to be cheap…

These are 2 I’ve found through amazon that people seemed to like. Anyone used these?
Teach Yourself Electricity and Electronics, Fourth Edition (Teach Yourself) – Stan Gibilisco; Paperback
A Practical Introduction to Electronic Circuits – Martin Hartley Jones; Paperback

electronic design program?

does anybody know of a computer program that allows you to design an electronic circuit, and then run it so you can see how it reacts and works.

it has to be able to run on windows XP

I don't need it to do very complex circuits, as long as it has basic chips, like the 555 chip etc.

if it shows the flow of electricity though the circuit that would be great, even better if you can slow it down to watch the changes in flow

ideally want one that is free or very cheap

explain the basic computer, system software applications software, random access memory, point and draw device, integrated circuits or chips, peripheral devices, thin clients, server computers, super computers, client computer, input, output, or 1/0

The purpose of the timer is to make single shot weapons fire automatically. you can find the original electronic schematic
here > http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=643928

it allows for approx 7 shots in 0.5 or 0.6 of a second.
this is incredibly fast and works well.
however there are many people that are using this tlc 555 and picaxe chips. and it is time for me to mod the mod.

the goal here is how to make it shoot faster to the brink of what the game will allow. ( which should be one trigger pull and the entire magazine is gone)

I have tried using 2 circuits in one controller this has the same effect as just using one.
I believe that the capacitors play a role in the frequency of repetition. but i have very basic knowledge of these kinds of things
there are 2 different caps in the circuit a 1uf and a 100pf one is ceramic one is a tantulum I don't know which controls the rate.
please if you have any info or knowledge in this area It would really help.
running them in series didn't work it remained the same speed I do really appreciatet he input however
thanks again
thank you
