Electronic Problem?

Im currently studying electronics and try to make a school project using hobby kit book but I dont understand how the circuit function except for what it does.. can anyone point me to a good website explaining how circuit work.. example. LED flashing light or knight rider light. Tq. It help me a lot if i understand how the circuit function because i need to present it to my lecturer.

Some Li-Ion battery include a small electronic circuit that protects the shuts off the battery in the event of overcharging, dropping too low in voltage under load, etc. On a cylindrical battery, it would be about 2mm longer than one without protection.
Is there a way to tell, either through the code of the battery, or through a simple electrical test, whether a given battery is protected or not?

I need help with a physics assignment (circuits)?

I’m struggling to find an Electronic device to do my assignment on. I don’t want people to do it for me, I just need help finding something basic to do it on, helpful websites and some tips.

Task: You are to select an electronic device that is used commercially. You are to describe the circuity of this device, explaining how the circuit works as well as explaining in detail the electronic components that make up this device. You may need to research components such as variable resistors, transistors, diodes and capacitors.
Your report will need:
- A circuit diagram of the major components
- An explanation of how each device works
- An explanation of each component and its function

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

how capacitor work in DC & AC circuit?

i have been study in electronic circuit about capacitor, but i don’t understand it.. i only know capacitor is charge and discharge component.. also, what is the different about polarity and non polarity capacitor is it different function…? can someone help me..
can someone give me a detail answer…
if one electrolytic capacitor is connected parallel with DC voltage, parallel LED with serial resistor and connected to another DC circuit.. what will happen with capacitor..?

Where can I find a 4.7pf Capacitor?

I went to radio shack and purchased all the components I need for a circuit. Except a 4.7pF capacitor. It doesn’t have to be exactly 4.7, it said around 4.7pF. I don’t really want to buy 1 dollars worth of something online. Does anyone know what kind of electronic device I could find one in? And how to read the value, or a link to read the value. Also where could i find a small trimmer capacitor, or variable capacitor? What devices, Thanks, Tim
