Many electronics factories use machines that place the electronic components into the printed circuits.

The generic term is "Auto Insertion"
The older method uses components with wire-legs which fit into appropriately placed holes, this is called Pin Thru Hole (PTH) technology.
The presently more dominant method is placing components on pads, and this is called Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
ITS Surface Mount Technology AND IT DEPENDS ON THE NO: OF INTEGRATION OF PCB.
The machines are called pick-and-place robots.
Pick and place is the machine that puts the SMDs (surface mount devices) componants on on the PCB for SMT (surface mount technology). the other type is through hole insertion also known as conventional for which machines commonly known as pinning or ConTAX (brand name) machines are used
the componants are soldered by several meathods, one is screenpriting where solder paste is put on the pads using a stencil then the pcb has the componants smt componants placed and the pcb is then heated to melt the solder, this is called reflow soldering.
the other type is wave soldering where the pcb typically with throughhole parts is sent through a wave of molton solder to solder all the parts up… final type is someone with a soldering iron….
