I want to try repairing a piece of electronic equipement at home and I believe a loose wire is the problem. But before I start I need to know what is the almost clear substance holding the wires to the board?

Model rocket engine not igniting?

My brother has been attempting to launch his model rocket. However nothing seems to be happening. The engines are Estes C6-3 and are from a newly opened packet.

The igniter is touching the propellant, as far in as it will go, and the wires aren’t touching, so were pretty sure it’s not short-circuiting. We hold the key in the electronic igniter box for five seconds while the light glows and then hit the launch button. But nothing happens.

We have replaced the igniters and the engine several times.

The only thing I can think that is affecting it is the cold weather, and the engines are a few years old. What are we doing wrong?

I also need references to buy cheap LCD parts.

rusty circuit board on remote control?

My son left his remote truck in the rain. I opened the battery cases of each to let them dry out and replaced the batteries. The truck works fine but the remote is being finicky (have to jiggle the on/off) switch a couple times before it works). So I unscrewed it to expose the circuit board and there are several areas that are slightly rusty. Is there a way to clean the rust safely? And would that help resolve the finicky remote?

I have been told that when jumping a car battery, that it is unnecessary to have the car batteries hooked up for multiple minutes. That when you connect the battery from the running car to the dead car, the dead car now has the same amount of "juice" as the running car, and should start up immediately, not needing to be charged for multiple minutes. Is this true, and if so could you please explain why. Thank you.

Are these courses the same?

im starting grade ten next year but i have to select courses now pretty stupid anyway i wanna know what is the diffrence between these two courses
Introduction to Computer Studies
This course introduces students to computer programming. Students will plan and write simple computer programs by applying fundamental programming concepts, and learn to create clear and maintainable internal documentation. They will also learn to manage a computer by studying hardware configurations, software selection, operating system functions, networking, and safe computing practices. Students will also investigate the social impact of computer technologies, and develop an understanding of environmental and ethical issues related to the use of computers. This course introduces students to computer science. Students will use Alice, a 3-D animation programming environment to introduce them to programming concepts, and then progress to Java, an industry-standard programming environment. They will also learn how to select appropriate computer hardware and software for specific requirements, as well as investigate the social, environmental and ethical impacts of computer technologies.

Computer Technology
This course introduces students to computer systems, networking, and interfacing, as well as electronics and robotics. Students will assemble, repair, and configure computers with various types of operating systems and application software. Students will build small electronic circuits and write computer programs to control simple peripheral devices or robots. Students will also develop an awareness of environmental and societal issues related to the use of computers, and learn about secondary and postsecondary pathways to careers in computer technology.
